You can find these used for $50-60, which isn't that much for a top-brand lens. There's nothing specifically wrong with a 3rd party 28mm lens from Vivitar. I believe the later, bayonet mount version of the lens actually has the SSC coating, so is actually slightly superior optically to the older version.
