Scott, Order some ARP headers studs, locktite them in the heads, hang the gasket and header on the studs and then tighten the nuts. You will never strip another exhaust bolt hole again with this method and it makes putting warped headers much, much easier. WebTires_N_Wires • 23 hr. ago. You should be able to go the next size up, use a regular tap, then have a machine shop make a threaded bushing that can go into your new hole and accept the plug. They will need to know what it is for so they can produce a part and recommend the appropriate loctite to prevent the bushing from coming back out. WebMar 29, 2006 · Registered. (however, if you had a 3/8" bolt that stripped you could run a 10mm tap in just fine without drilling first).
