Like I said it got quieter the more the car heated up so I figured that was the lifters pumping up but I am not sure. There are a lot of 8000 RPM engines that run the low plunger travel hydraulic lifters. A standard long travel OEM lifter can be easily modified to reduce the travel and be very happy at 7,000 RPM or more. … Web7 de mai. de 2014 · If the valves do decide to float and you dont have enough valve to piston clearance, something is going to touch I usually run 1/4 turn but here again, it really needs to be discussed with the camshaft manufacturer. Bottom line is, you need to ask the cam company and also ask Howards about the lifters, period.

Any cam I have had up to .550 lift with 1.5 rockers I have always done cylinder one on the compression stroke then turn the engine 90 degrees then move to cylinder 8 and do the same procedure. chip off the old
