Yellow-billed Cardinal is not a crested species, so other than having red on the head, there is nothing very cardinal-like about it at all. Its location in the west is governed primarily by the Paraguay river - with the eastern boundaries stretching out across the shallow basin formed between the Paraguay and the central Brazilian plateau (or Cerrado) in the east.
